If you want to get involved in helping us to raise money for our cause we would welcome you on board. Again this could be done in a variety of ways ranging from becoming a member of our fund raising Committee helping us with the ongoing challenge of finding funding for existing and new services or perhaps contributing your ideas about events which could be held to raise money. It could even mean arranging sponsorship for your pet ambition or group event.

Donations

If for any reason you are unable or unwilling to become a volunteer or get involved in fund raising or even if you do these things, we always welcome donations from individuals, Companies or Groups to support our work. Over the years we have had gifts from satisfied users, their friends and family, local pubs and skittles teams to name but a few. Any amount, however small, will be put to good use. As Charity of the year for Tesco in 2005, we raised hundreds of pounds by simply collecting loose change from obliging customers going in and out of their local store. It is amazing how so little can become so much.

Gift Aid

This is a tax efficient way of making a charitable donation which obliges the Government to match the gift from tax payers to the extent of basic rate tax which means that every £1 donated in this way becomes £1.28 in our hands. All it takes on your part is a signature on a declaration form which we can supply, not to mention your donation of any amount you decide.

Legacy

Any bequests to Registered Charities are exempt from Inheritance Tax which is payable on all estates over £325,000 at the rate of 40 pence in every pound over that amount. Even if you are not in that bracket, a bequest may give you the opportunity to help us carry on in our work in the community in the future. To benefit us locally any bequest should be specifically made to Age Concern Forest of Dean Charity Number 1019011.

Covenants.

If you are in  a position to do so, making a Covenant is a way of providing us with a regular income from you of an amount and at a frequency to suit you.

Promoting our Services

We need to market ourselves to ensure that everyone in the Forest of Dean knows what to do and how to access our services for their own or other family members benefit and how to volunteer. It is also increasingly necessary to ensure that funders fully understand the social worth of our services. As an Ambassador for Age Concern Forest of Dean, you can help us promote our image.

Supporting us in our cause

If there is a way you can help us that is not mentioned above you obviously have an inventive mind. Please call us on 01594 845621 with your idea.
